We arrived Goleta around 5 o’clock after a five-hour drive from the Bay Area. If you’re not familiar with Goleta, it’s a picturesque, quiet beach town, nestled just five minutes away from Santa Barbara. We rented a cottage through Airbnb. Cozy and cute. The host prepared homemade granola and even provided a bottle of wine for us.
Saturday was an event-filled day.
In the morning, after a homemade breakfast, we went to the Goleta County Beach for a few hours. We got our much needed sun tan as well as exercise playing paddle ball. We ate lunch at a Korean Mexican fusion taco stand that had batting cages attached. We took some swings in the cages after lunch and were not very impressive.
We are only at 1 p.m. …
Drew had to run around downtown Santa Barbara to a find a bathroom after the taco fusion place. That’s all I will say about that.
Stopped by a nice local brewery my coworker recommended, Figueroa Mt Brewery, for a couple of great local beers and chatted it up with a few locals. One thing about beer is it makes you hungry, so Drew and I headed over to the Hoffmann Brat Haus for brats, Belgium fries and some more beer. Yum yum.
The night was still young at 7 p.m., so we walked to the famous Stearns Wharf and then out along the pier and took pictures right after the sunset. That of course made us hungry, and we eat again… this time flatbread pizza.
Finally made it back to our cottage around ten after a packed day! Now we are ready to pass out.
